Full course description
A Coaching Cycle is personalized professional learning. It is a series of interactions between a coach and teacher(s) with the purpose of increasing student outcomes in an area identified by the teacher(s). An effective coaching cycle happens in three phases:
IDENTIFY
LEARN
IMPROVE
During these phases teachers, along with the support of their instructional coach, IDENTIFY a need in their classroom and set a goal for improvement, LEARN about high-yielding teaching practices that will help them to reach that goal, then IMPROVE by implementing their chosen strategies, adjusting their teacher moves and student moves, and assessing their progress until their goal is met.
Completion of this professional learning opportunity yields 1 USBE credit which is a total of 14 hours of collaborative work with your instructional coach and 4 hours of reflection.
